Del-Val Food Ingredients Crab Extract is perfect for many seafood sauces, gravies, and soups.  The powdered extract has a neat clean full-bodied crab flavor that is perfect for making bases for many seafood soups such as crab bisque, Maryland crab soup, and she-crab soup.  Our powder is minimally processed through thermal extraction.  Freshly caught crab is inspected upon receipt, softly heated, then finally the juice is concentrated and spray dried, producing a free flowing powder.  Great for use on topical applications.

Crabs are decapod crustaceans that thrive in oceans, fresh water, and on land over a vast geographical footprint.  There are over 850 species varying widely in size from just a few millimeters wide, to the Japanese spider crab which has a leg span up to 4 meters!  Crabs can walk sideways, while a few family classifications of crab have flat bag legs which allow them to swim.

Over 150 million tons of crab are consumed annual.  They can be enjoyed on the shell, or more popularly, just the claws and legs are eaten.  Crab roe is also enjoyed in certain cultures.  Add our crab powder to a variety of different meal preparations, including the Chesapeake Bay favorite, crab cakes.  Crab is also a popular ingredient in various sushi roll preparations.  Enjoy crab with different flavors like wasabi, basil, or different accompaniments like avocado or squash.
